Über Jake
I have a strong background in mathematics, with a bachelor's degree from the Australian national university and a Masters from the university of Bonn.
In addition, I have been teaching this whole time, as an officially university teacher and also privately to a number of students.
Further, I have a background with mental health training/ leadership and like to approach teaching from an empathic angle.

I do one-on-one sessions with clients, asking them to provide me with an idea of course materials in advance so I can tailor a lesson to them. Typically we will work on questions together, starting with easy questions and building complexity. I find that focussing on helping students solve problems with correct methods is the best way to help them learn. Where appropriate I will go through theory, bridging the gap between lectures and application.
I have teaching experience as an official university teacher and have privately tutored both university undergrad students and high school students. Please get in touch and we can talk about your learning goals.
