Über Kristina (Professional IB Math tutor)
Hi, I’m Kristina—a trained math teacher and researcher turned tutor. I help IB students achieve their target predicted grades and excel in their final math exams, so they can secure admission to their university of choice.
Even though I now have three academic degrees with top grades in math, there was a time when I struggled with it. I thought I simply didn’t have the “math gene” and that math would always be difficult for me. But I was wrong. With the help of my amazing high school math teacher and a lot of hard work, I was not only able to improve my grades, but I also began to enjoy math so much that it became my career.
If someone had told me back then that I would go on to earn three math degrees, I would have thought they were crazy. But not only did I come to understand math deeply, but I even invented some and published it. Crazy, right? Now I'm helping others truly understand math. Warning: some ended up even loving it.
If I can do it, you can too. I understand what it’s like to struggle with math, and I have both the training and a genuine passion to help you understand it and build your confidence.
I have helped students achieve top grades in all subjects and levels, from grade 4 to master's, covering a range from basic math to Machine Learning. Simply put: I love math and I love teaching it! Regardless of how much you're struggling right now, you can gain a good understanding and achieve good grades.
I have worked as a teacher and as a university scientific employee. I have over 11 years of tutoring experience with fantastic results.
I have a record of academic excellence, so I can help you achieve it as well. My academic education:
1. Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with honors
2. Master of Science in Mathematics Education with honors
3. Master of Science in Applied Mathematics with honors

𝑴𝒀 𝑻𝑼𝑻𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑨𝑷𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑨𝑪𝑯
The reason my tutoring approach is effective is that it’s grounded in science-based teaching and learning principles:
1. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐬. This is the first and most important step. The reason students struggle with exercises is that they lack a clear understanding of the intuition behind the math concepts. They jump prematurely into solving exercises and then fail. This is far too common and can be fixed with the right teaching approach. No matter how complex the math, I'll simplify it. Once your brain understands the intuition behind a concept, you'll be able to solve even the hardest exercises.
2. 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬. Most students don't know how to study. I will teach you how to use science-based, effective study strategies that will enhance your performance, reduce study time, and make studying more enjoyable.
3. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦-𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞. The only way to be ready for the final IB Math exams is to train your Math muscles with the style and difficulty of the final IB Math exams regularly. Most students leave this until the last 2-3 months. But that isn't enough. We will practice with exam-style exercises for every topic and chapter, so you're ready to achieve your goal grade in your final exams without feeling overwhelmed.
4. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. For all the exercises of each topic, you'll receive detailed feedback so that no question is left unanswered. This will keep you consistent and ensure that you progress at a steady rate.
