Über Lani

Hi, I'm Lani. I have always been deeply interested in people, relationships and communication — particularly the conversations that are hardest to have, but often matter the most.

Through my own life experiences, therapeutic training and work with people from different backgrounds, I have developed a genuine passion for helping people prepare for, navigate and rise above difficult and challenging situations. I know how valuable it can be to have someone outside the situation who will listen, ask thoughtful questions and help you see things more clearly.

My approach is warm, empathetic, supportive and non-judgmental. I am not here to tell you what you should do or decide who is right or wrong. Instead, I want to help you understand the situation more fully — your feelings, needs, expectations and boundaries, as well as what may be happening from the other person's perspective.

Sometimes the most difficult conversations are with the people who matter to us most: our partner, parents, children, siblings, relatives or close friends. Emotions, history, love, disappointment and expectations can all become intertwined, making it difficult to know what to say — or even what we truly want.

This is where I believe having someone outside the situation can be especially valuable.

Together, we can slow things down, unpack what has happened, explore different perspectives and help you become clearer about what you want to communicate, what you need from the conversation and what you realistically hope it might achieve.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and previously worked in technology before moving into coaching and therapeutic work. I am also trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), developed by Marisa Peer. This training has deepened my understanding of how our thoughts, emotions, experiences and expectations can influence the way we respond to challenging situations and relationships.

For these sessions, however, my focus is practical and supportive: helping you understand the situation, process what you are thinking and feeling, consider both perspectives, prepare for the conversation ahead and communicate with greater clarity and confidence.

Having lived in England for 15 years and now in Berlin, I have also experienced different cultures, relationships and ways of communicating.

Most importantly, I want to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can speak openly without feeling judged. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out, and you don't need to know exactly what you want to say.

Bring the situation. We can unpack it together.

There are conversations in life that are simply more difficult than others. Sometimes the stakes are high, emotions are involved, and what we say — and how we say it — can have lasting consequences for our relationships and lives.

Perhaps you need to talk with your partner about an ongoing problem, discuss expectations within your relationship, set an important boundary, approach a difficult family situation, repair a misunderstanding, or communicate something important to a parent, sibling or child.

Maybe a friendship has become difficult. You may need to address something that has hurt you, resolve a conflict, say no, establish a boundary, or finally say something you have been avoiding.

These are the conversations we often wish we could prepare for before they happen.

Helping people prepare for, navigate and rise above difficult and challenging situations is something I am genuinely passionate about. My aim is to help you approach them with as much clarity, ease and calmness as possible.

I believe that some difficult situations in life are almost like battles — not because we should approach the other person as an enemy, but because some moments matter enough that we should not walk into them unprepared. A single conversation can sometimes change a friendship, a family relationship, a partnership or an important direction in our lives.

We will first explore the situation from your perspective. What has happened? What are you feeling? What do you really want to communicate? What are your expectations, concerns and boundaries? What would a good and realistic outcome look like for you?

Then we can look at the situation from the other person's perspective. What might they be thinking or feeling? What are their expectations? Where might they disagree with you? What could trigger a defensive reaction? What questions or responses might you need to be prepared for?

Understanding both sides can completely change how you approach a difficult conversation.

From there, we can work together on what you want to say, how you might say it and how you can respond if the conversation takes an unexpected direction. We can role-play the situation, explore different approaches and practise until you feel more comfortable speaking naturally rather than relying on a memorised script.

This isn't about “winning” a conversation. It is about helping you enter it prepared, grounded and able to communicate in a way that is best for you while also considering everyone involved.

We all need this kind of support sometimes. Family and friends can be wonderful people to talk to, but they are not always available — and sometimes they are simply too close to the situation or emotionally involved themselves to offer the perspective we need.

At times, what we need is someone outside the situation who will listen, ask thoughtful questions, help us explore our feelings and expectations, consider different perspectives and support us while we work out how we want to navigate what lies ahead.

You don't have to arrive knowing exactly what you want to say.

Bring the situation. We can unpack it together.

Sessions are conducted in English. If English isn't your first language, we can also work on finding the words and expressions that allow you to communicate what you really mean naturally, clearly and confidently.

If you're in Berlin, we can meet in person in a relaxed environment where we can talk openly and comfortably. If you're outside Berlin, we can meet online by video call — wherever you are in the world.

My goal is simple: to help you walk into a difficult conversation better prepared, with greater clarity, confidence and understanding — and give yourself the best chance of navigating it in the best way possible.
