Über Boao
Hi! I’m a native Mandarin speaker, born and raised in China. I studied music and teaching, and after graduating seven years ago, I moved to Europe — where I’ve been living and teaching ever since. I’m a musician, a passionate language learner, and I love talking about cultural differences. I speak English and Italian fluently, and I’m also working on my German (which is getting pretty good!). Living in a multilingual world made me realize how much I enjoy helping others with language learning — especially Chinese. Over the years, I’ve helped many students improve their Mandarin in a clear, fun, and supportive way. If you’re curious about the Chinese language or culture — whether you're a total beginner or already have some experience — I’d be happy to help you on your journey!

I help my students connect the language to their personal lives, so their motivation stays strong and keeps growing. In Chinese, we say 因材施教 — “teach according to each student’s talents.” I truly believe that every student is unique. That’s why I use different approaches based on each person’s natural strengths, learning style, and needs. I always take time to understand my students and keep my lessons both effective and enjoyable. If you’re just starting out, we’ll begin with Pinyin pronunciation — it’s the foundation for everything else, including characters. If you already have some experience, I’ll tailor the lessons to match your level and what you want to achieve. During my lessons, I usually speak Chinese and English. If needed, I can also use some German to support the learning process, especially when it comes to proverbs or tricky concepts — I find that German can explain things better. Since I’m also a musician, I love using songs in my classes. I often introduce grammar points or topics through music and creative content — so learning stays fun, engaging, and memorable.
