My name is Ivy Liu, and I’m a native Chinese speaker excited to help you learn Chinese! While I’m relatively new to teaching professionally, I have a strong passion for the language and love helping others connect with Chinese culture and language.
My approach to teaching is friendly, patient, and adaptable. I believe that everyone learns at their own pace, and I make sure to create a comfortable environment where you feel confident to practice and improve. Whether you're just starting out with Chinese or looking to strengthen your skills, I’ll work with you to create lessons that suit your needs and interests.
I’m here to help you feel comfortable using Chinese in everyday conversations, and I also aim to introduce you to the culture behind the language. I enjoy sharing what I know and will always encourage you to ask questions and express yourself.
Even though I’m newer to teaching, I’m committed to providing a professional and supportive learning experience. I look forward to working together and helping you make steady progress in your Chinese learning journey!

Welcome to My Chinese Lessons!
As a native Chinese speaker, I’m passionate about helping students of all levels improve their Chinese skills. Although I’m relatively new to teaching, I bring a lot of enthusiasm, patience, and a personal approach to every lesson. My goal is to make learning Chinese enjoyable and accessible, no matter your level or learning style.
My Teaching Method:
I believe in a flexible, student-centered approach. Whether you're starting with the basics or looking to refine your skills, I tailor each lesson to suit your needs. My focus is on building your confidence in speaking and understanding Chinese, using a mix of conversation practice, grammar explanations, and vocabulary exercises. I use simple, real-life examples to help you communicate confidently in everyday situations. For beginners, we focus on essential vocabulary and simple phrases, while intermediate learners can practice more complex sentences and conversations.
My Lesson Plan:
Each lesson is designed to be engaging and practical.
(1) Warm-up: A quick recap of the previous lesson or a brief conversation to get you comfortable.
(2) Core Content: New vocabulary, grammar points, or conversation practice based on your goals.
(3) Practice: A mix of speaking drills, listening exercises, and sometimes reading or writing tasks.
(4) Review & Feedback: At the end of the lesson, we’ll review key points and I’ll give personalized feedback to help you improve.

What sets me apart as a tutor are as following.
(1) I focus on creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment. Language learning can be challenging. So I strive to be patient and understanding, making sure you feel encouraged, relaxed and enjoyable every step of the way.
(2) I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my methods to suit your learning style—whether you prefer visual aids, interactive exercises, or conversation-based lessons.
(3) I also encourage a lot of cultural exchange, so you not only learn the language but also gain insights into Chinese traditions, idioms, and customs.
