Über Vijay Shankar
I am a consultant for a biotech startup doing corporate communications and media relations work. Previously I'd been a freelance #journalist and #facilitator doing #teaching work on storytelling, communications, and media skills. Before this, I was a senior content and editorial manager at Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany, responsible for the #editorial #content pipeline on human pharma-related stories, which I did briefly after a decade-long journalism and teaching career. As a freelance journalist I've been covering stories around #science, #health, #environment, #climate, #development, and #books for various international outlets across print, online, and audio media. As the second job in teaching, I've been facilitating #workshops on science #communication, #media #training, #podcasting, and #filmmaking for academic researchers at the Max Planck Society in Germany. The foundation to all these borne out of an interdisciplinary science PhD from Aarhus University , Denmark and an MA in Science Journalism from City University, London. Off work I am also rejoicing in my role as a father, a husband to one of the world-class scientists, and a parent to a Majestic Goldberg (White Golden Retriever) dog in Germany.

Very pragmatic, hands-on approach, with a unique storytelling style pedagogy, and available for lasting understanding of concepts. I also use multisensory and learner-led approach in my teaching.
