Über Sheryl
Hi there, my name is Sheryl, I come from Beijing, China.
I am a Chinese teacher currently based in Zurich, with a master’s degree in English Language and Literature; besides, I have more than 2 years of experience of teaching Chinese (children 4-7 years old as well as Adults) in both English and German.
As a Chinese teacher, I understand the frustration that “Chinese is one of the most difficult languages in the world.” However, I believe that with a highly effective and fun way of teaching method, we can build up the confidence and for sure Chinese can also be learnt more effortlessly.
As a passionate foreign language learner, I have spent many years in learning English and German by myself. Therefore, I truly understand the special needs and the difficulties that we encounter in the process of learning, and I am eager to share my learning experience with you.
I have a sense of humor and an openminded attitude, I will be very patient and make you feel comfortable even if mistakes are made; Apart from the Chinese languages learning, I will also shed a light on the Chinese culture, tradition, etc. so that the basic intercultural communication skills can be acquired in our lessons.

Learning and teaching is a complementary process. In my lessons, I will tailor each lesson to your goals and pacing with a clearly and systematically structured content and an easy-to-follow teaching style.
For example, we will explore together the phonetic Chinese system, the unique Chinese characters, conduct real life conversations, tackle the grammatical difficulties, and get a deeper insight of the authentic Chinese culture.
