Über Rebecca
A Cross-Cultural and Business English trainer with 10 years experience working with corporate clients from all over the world. A previous business owner.
Certified in both teaching English as a foreign language from Cambridge and intercultural communication skills from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
I currently work with companies such as Panasonic, Telefonica, Airbus, Occhio, NTT Data and The Max Planck Society, to name a few.
I have never received negative feedback once. This is because I love my work, I research my work and I take it seriously. I also love getting to know the people I work with and this is important to me.
Having lived and worked in Germany, I have in-depth knowledge of the country and culture. I now live in the South of Spain.
I am fluent in Spanish.

I am an Irish Business English trainer, certified in Intercultural Communication for global business. I coach clients and businesses working in English to communicate effectively and navigate different cultural environments. I have over 10 years experience coaching Business English and communication skills with students from all over the world. Previous to this, I was a business owner that traded internationally and led my own team.
Working with foreign colleagues or dealing with international clients can be a sensitive interaction. It benefits from a cultural awareness and strong communication skills. This can be a lot harder to do when English is not your first language. I am passionate about equipping my clients with both the language and communication skills necessary for this to go smoothly.
Topics I can help with include -
1. How to give and receive feedback
2. How to hold and contribute to meetings
3. How to write effective emails
4. How to use English grammar to your advantage
5. How to have difficult conversations
6. Culturally sensitive topics such as disagreeing and saying No
7. Vocabulary, expressions and idioms you need in business

A little example of the work I do -
How to say No to a colleague or client from Britain? Did you know, for example, that this requires a fixed format in order to avoid offense?
Typically it goes as follows -
1. A statement of regret - I'm sorry or I wish I could but...
2. A reason (we always explain why we are saying no) - I have another meeting at that time
3. Offer an alternative - what about next week? Is later in the day any good? (this leaves a positive note, which is polite)
Another example -
Did you know for example that in general, using bullet points in your emails or starting with the reason of your email is considered rude in many cultures? We have a specific structure to avoid numbers or bullets. It is also more polite to start with a "I hope you are well" or "I hope this finds you well" to add a positive greeting before you begin.
