Über Karan Veer

I am an education professional and university student currently based in Vienna, with over four years of experience working in North American higher education admissions, academic advising, and institutional operations. Before moving to Austria to pursue my degree at Central European University, I completed legal studies at Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada, and worked extensively with international students and academic applicants across Canada and the UK. Through roles such as Admissions Advisor at Anderson College and Team Lead at Career City College, I evaluated academic applications, guided hundreds of students through complex language and educational milestones, and developed targeted support programs to help non-native speakers achieve academic fluency. Beyond institutional advising, my background in legal advocacy, formal debate, and moot court competitions (including placing 1st in the University of Toronto Mock Trial competition) gave me a deep appreciation for the precision of the English language—how to construct persuasive arguments, articulate complex thoughts clearly, and present with calm confidence under pressure. I know firsthand the challenge of navigating academic and professional environments in a second language. I don’t believe in dry, mechanical grammar drills without context. Instead, we focus on real-world communication, active speaking, and practical application from day one:Conversational Fluency & Confidence: We tackle spontaneous speaking on everyday topics, current events, and culture to break the fear of making mistakes, refine natural pronunciation, and expand practical vocabulary. Academic & Essay Writing: Drawing from over four years of experience evaluating North American academic files and working with university-level writing, I guide you through thesis structure, coherent paragraph transitions, academic tone, and clear analytical arguments. Grammar & Sentence Mechanics: Complex grammar rules are broken down into logical frameworks so you understand why a sentence works rather than just memorizing rules.Presentations & Interview Coaching: We practice speech structure, body language, clear articulation, and cross-examination/debate techniques to help you speak confidently in front of an audience. Lesson StructureDiagnostic & Goal Setting: In our first session, we identify your primary hurdles (fluency hesitation, essay structure, grammar gaps, or exam deadlines) and set a clear target roadmap. Interactive Core (Speaking / Analysis): Every lesson involves active production—you do at least 70% of the talking or writing review, not passive listening. Targeted Feedback & Materials: After each lesson, you receive actionable notes on vocabulary refinements, recurring grammar patterns, and optional short exercises to practice before our next meeting.Who These Lessons Are ForMiddle & High School Students: Preparing for school exams, Matura, or standardized tests.
