Über Saskia
Hello everyone! I’m Saskia and I am from Norwich in the United Kingdom.
I am a qualified educator, with years of experience in a range of situations. I regularly mentored University students in University level biochemistry. I have tutored highschool students in both Maths and Biology, and I have also worked as a swimming coach and school helper for many years. Recently my love for international perspectives and sharing of experiences led me to an international Hojskole in Denmark.
Here, I met people from around the world looking to improve their English. I really enjoyed helping them, especially my Japanese and Korean friends. It has been a joy to exchange cultures, interests and languages. Now I want to continue doing this and supporting other people who want to gain fluency in English.

I love to help people gain confidence with practical English, especially to gain confidence in talking about topics that are important and interesting to them. Often these are topics essential for jobs, life goals, or just expressing yourself, but are not taught by schools and language apps. Therefore, I really want to focus on conversational topics and passions not covered by the normal curriculum, as well as sharing some fun expressions and phrases used by native English speakers.
I love to get to know people and have fun conversations. I really enjoy finding out about peoples life and delving into their passions. I think it's so exciting to be able to share experiences and interests. Therefore, lessons will be friendly conversations on the topics that interest you. Or we can focus on culture exchange!
New words will be written down, and definitions noted for the student's future reference. By the end, I hope that some new vocabulary will be gained, their confidence in English shall have grown, and their passion shall be re-invigorated.
I make an effort to adjust to every learner, by trying to understand everyone's unique goals. I am learning danish myself, so I know how tricky and frustrating it can be to be unable to express yourself in another language. Therefore, I aim to make everyone comfortable, by asking engaging questions to keep the conversation flowing, and making sure everyone has a good time!
