Über Mark
I’m British and have lived in Germany for many years. I work as a professional translator and English teacher, mainly with business, legal and other professional subjects.
Languages have been part of my working life for a long time, and teaching is a natural extension of that. I particularly enjoy helping people become more comfortable speaking English and finding the words they need without constantly worrying about getting everything right.
I prefer working with real situations and real language. We might talk about your work, prepare for a meeting or interview, discuss something you’ve read, look at an email you need to write, or simply have a good conversation in English. What we do depends very much on you and what you want to improve.

Hi, I’m Mark. I’m a British English teacher and professional translator specializing in business, legal and professional communication.
I focus on the English people need in real situations. That might mean preparing for a meeting or interview, discussing a business topic, working on a presentation or email, or simply getting more comfortable speaking English.
I teach general and conversational English as well as Business and Legal English. As a translator, I work with professional, business and legal language every day, so we can also work with the kind of English you actually encounter in your job rather than relying entirely on textbook material.
What we do in a lesson depends on what you need. If you have a meeting, presentation or interview coming up, we can prepare for it together. We can work through documents or correspondence, discuss current topics from your field, role-play situations you encounter at work or simply have a conversation.
I’ll correct mistakes where it’s useful and point out wording that may be grammatically correct but doesn’t sound quite natural. Grammar comes in when we need it, rather than being the starting point for every lesson.
My goal is to help you communicate naturally, clearly and confidently – at work and in everyday life.
