As an educator, it's my job to guide you through an active, reflective process, by implementing techniques and methods that facilitate the learning experience. In fact, as the saying goes, " There's no retention, without attention "... because we can all agree that, otherwise, studying only to forget is a waste of time, energy, and money. Let's be honest, English proficiency determines career growth nowadays, making the demand very high. This is why many untrained native speakers pose as English tutors. Despite their best intentions, I'm sure, they lack any real understanding of how language is learned and processed - and their teaching certifications, (someone has to say it) are of purely commercial value. Ultimately, working with untrained tutors leads to error fossilization, and a series of bad learning strategies which leave students feeling responsible for their failure. So, if you've had this experience, and you want (but most of all need) to improve your conversational skills, I can help :) I'm happy to teach you effective strategies rooted in neuro-linguistic science...because I'm a trashy punk at heart, with a thing for linguistics and nerdy things that I promise to deliver in a stimulating and exciting way. I offer English courses (general, business, legal, medical) as well as intensive workshops on accent reduction and comprehension (there's actually a pretty cool reason why native speakers can be so hard to understand). Each course begins with a couple of nerdy, super cool, ice-breaker lessons that will give you a different perspective on English, or maybe fill in some gaps you've always had. The remaining course will be tailored to your needs, level, and learning style. Instead of the usual workbooks and silly worksheets that most teachers get online (for free), I work exclusively with pedagogically advanced material created by companies that know what they're doing, which I respect.
